Unfortunately, I cant “unsubscribe” , because, like you, I can disagree AND yet also can forgive...🙃

I dont believe the problem is that the player in question hasn’t improved in SOME aspects of his life. The majority of us do. However, having read and heard the details of what the player did WAS shameful. What to me personally, I cant wrap my head around is that the parents of the mentally handicapped boy have not stated that they are “satisfied” with the player’s apology. If correct, the player apologized via a website or text? If that is indeed the proper and humble way to do things then it’s resolved, right?

Apparently not!

The player, under court order (?) was supposed to apologize. Old school or new school one would think that would be IN PERSON and secondary -probably publicly. This hasn’t happened. The player apologized to the NHL , etc in an open “letter”

So nobody in his “camp”(parents, friends, agent, COACH) hasn’t told the player to go make an effort in person/publicly apologizing to said victim. Heck, it could of been resolved right in court?

To me, it states that there are some serious egos involved- hockey needs to work on this and keep doing so

Might I bring up the Blackhawks fiasco & team Canada (juniors?)

WTF

The young man could of had a good career in the Nhl but now?

Maybe the player should go out of his way

I appreciate when people in this day and age can do that. The beauty of the world is that we can have different opinions and points of view. Most just don't see it as beauty. The only reason for the public apology is "signaling" in my opinion. If he wasn't bound for the NHL, nobody would ask for this big public apology. My childhood bully didn't need to go on TV to say he was sorry. I needed to grow the fuck up and get stronger. The battle and evolution for kids who are bullied is internal. You can drag this kid who has a chance to make something of his life with you, or you can get beyond it.

There are felons playing every Sunday in the NFL and NBA, the same Mom's and Dad's that want this kid cancelled allow their kids to listen to rappers who have killed people. And even murderers get out on good behavior in like 8 years in some cases. How much longer do we want to bury this kid?
