Here it goes.
In Texas for the last 2 months of my life, I’ve worked with ‘losers’.
How do I know?
Because 6 summers ago I worked with elite NHL and NFL players at a summer internship.
Because for 2 years I spent time with a group of losers who made fun of and harassed the few kids that had NAHL talent and work ethic that just happened to play in tier 3 for a month before we got them somewhere else.
And because this happened a few days ago…
Don’t ‘do’ it, ‘live’ it
In week 1 of this summer camp, we had them audit their time. A favorite activity of mine because it puts everything right in front of their face.
When they came in, we had them discuss and write about their first-ever audits.
Where are they ‘wasting’ time?
Where could they improve their eating habits?
Where could they trade an hour of video games for an hour of film study or shooting pucks?
They did their homework.
But they didn’t live their homework.
A week later, we had them do another audit…
My hypothesis was that we would see some changes. And guess what happened?
