There are only 81 verses, this is the last one I’ll write on in this little run of posts.
Verse 76:
Men are born soft and supple;
dead, they are stiff and hard.
Plants are born tender and pliant;
dead, they are brittle and dry.Thus whoever is stiff and inflexible
is a disciple of death.
Whoever is soft and yielding
is a disciple of life.The hard and stiff will be broken.
The soft and supple will prevail.
You ever notice after hurricane footage that you’ve seen on TV that all of the palm trees are still standing right on the beach?
Is it because they are rigid and ‘strong’? Quite the opposite.
These things flex to the ground…
Strength isn’t in being rigid, stiff trees break. So do stiff leaders.
Being at war with your team causes breakage. Bonds between players break when coaches create unnesscary competition between teammates.
Force Coaching causes separation between player and coach too with the various deceitful and deceptive tactics for the coach to ‘extract’ value from the player for his own benefit.
Your team is inflexible if it’s only in ‘order’ when you’re around:
When you coach In-Powered, you put your players in power. And distributing the power over larger surface area will also protect the team from the ‘high winds’ of adversity that blow throughout the season.
True power doesn’t look ‘powerful’. It’s not concentrated to one, it’s dissipated to all.
In-Powered leadership is ‘soft and supple’. It gives off energy of life…
Force Coaching is ‘stiff and hard’. It gives ‘dead energy’.
Give life to your players and team environment. Remain flexible.
