You may have heard this before. I’ve got another one for you, but first take this test for me. Don’t worry, only 1 question. It’s based on a common cliché you have heard before:
Q: How should you treat the following 2 people?
A. Treat the janitor better than the CEO
B. Treat the CEO better than the janitor
C. Treat them both the same
D. Treat them both like shit
The correct answer to the test question is C. We are told to treat the janitor the same as the CEO. “Character is shown by how you treat someone that can’t do anything for you.”
Or whatever that bullshit quote says…
But here is the thing you might not have given much thought to… That test doesn’t matter. Because here’s the thing.
The test isn’t actually the test. Reread that if you must.
The paper test with the multiple choice questions is not the test.
The correct answer is not to know the correct answer.
The correct answer is to be the correct answer.
The real test is real life.
Don’t know the answer, be the answer.
