Razors,
No this isn’t a Gillette ad.
Different razor.
A Farnham Street blog says it best,
A philosophical razor is a tool used to eliminate improbable options in a given situation. Occam’s is the best-known example.
Occam’s razor can be summarized as follows:
Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected.
Pursuing elite in sport will require behavior change. You’ll have to decide to go from a current version of yourself to a better version of yourself.
The friendship razor says:
If you start to enact behavior change to grow, and your friends don’t support you…
Then you are in the wrong group of friends.
You might hear:
wow, you’ve changed
you’re too cool for us now
or something along those lines
You’ll find out who your real friends are, which is actually a good thing.
Watch out for this when you decide to start on a path to bettering yourself. Most don’t want to do it themselves. Worse yet, they want to hold you back too.
