The offseason is a great time to experiment.
Oftentimes coaches fall out of touch with the group, this could be a way to guard against that.
It’s also a way to try something in the offseason that you can get player feedback on when it perceptually ‘matters less’… The stakes are lower… So try shit.
Then if they like it, maybe you continue it on into the season.
