I’m already working on a follow-up to my first book, The Wave. Here is part of Chapter 4.
The day before I began writing this section of the book, I threw out a tweet:
A person that does not follow me at the present time saw it and quote tweeted the above response, “It’s all my lane.” And I instantly knew I had to add this section to the book. This is the nature of positive-sum play. Somebody throws an idea out, someone builds on top and says something in a way you’ve never thought about. This is the energy we need folks.
Let’s now set the stage for what this section is going to be. I wrote in a separate newsletter on player development that the people in current power, in our case the Old Guard will often try to deceive you with bad advice. If the masses catch onto the bullshit and start repeating it, it gains traction and becomes a cliché that we can’t put down. This is what I wrote, and this is how they do it:
If someone wants to either create or keep their advantage over you, they are going to send you on a wild goose chase in the wrong direction from where they are headed. The direction of travel towards a goal matters more than speed.
