Adults conform over time when their ideas get shit on enough times. When “hey boss, can we try this…” for the 12 time gets shut down, you shut down.
Your autonomy is non-existent, you don’t have a voice. You feel small. Insignificant. Like you don’t matter. Because your creative solutions are never given a chance. You’re not yourself at work because you aren’t allowed to express that person. The authority figure shapes how the results turn out. Not you.
You know what else kills creativity and your authentic self? You’re not going to like my answer.
