I think there’s a bit of a misconception around some of the stuff I put out.
A lot of people that read my first book told me to “get off my high horse” essentially as part of their feedback.
The reason some of my stuff comes across as in other reader’s words:
brash
cocky
arrogant
Is because it needs to. And it’s because, I’m writing as if I need to wake my former self up.
At 26, with all my New Wave ideas, I still had some of the Old Guard that coached me come out. I was the idiot, the walking hypocrisy perpetuating what the Old Guard is doing in our game.
Writing this way does something that you need in this digital, social media age.
It gets your attention.
And that’s the currency in 2023 and beyond. It might even trigger you, and if you can pause that emotion and start to think and question, you might learn something about yourself. That’s the goal.
There are a million and a half people that you could get coaching thoughts from, and you’re choosing to read this newsletter. I hope this one hits you like smelling-salts on the bench before puck drop.
